No, I really dont think they will. It is sad because people down in FL deserve a team that at least has a chance to be competive.

Being in the same divison as ny, boston, and Toronto is tough.

If they were in the same division as oakland, anahiem, and Seattle they would have a better chance.

I don't think the Devil Rays will as long as they play in Tampa. They can't compete financially with the large markets in New York and Boston. Tampa Bay is making some great moves and have great young talent, but they can't woo free agents and they can't get fans to come to the games.

Anything's possible, but they have an uphill climb in that division. The way the team is now they have to get some arms in the rotation behind Kazmir to have any hope. The offense is full of young, talented guys, but the pitching is a mess. As the Yankees have shown us this year its all about the pitching, and unfortunately Tampa doesn't have any.

They have the foundation for a playoff team with some young offensive players like Carl Crawford, BJ Upton, and Delmon Young. They finally have a homegrown ace-in-the-making James Shields. If they can maintain the players they grow they have a good chance in the next few years. If they trade away players (like Carlos Pena) to the teams above them, it will be tough to rise.

Yes, they will. They have outstanding young prospects like B.J. Upton and Zach Dukes that came out of the Durham Bulls Organization and a whole bunch more are on the way.

Not as long as they remain in the AL East with the Yankees and Red Sox.

Not as long as they are in the same division with the Yankees and Red Sox, they are simply overmatched in the AL East.

possibly as a wild card team because they have a lot of great young players such as Crawford and kazmir who will continue to improve and eventually become stars in this league.

Give them a few years. They have loads of young talent that just need some time to fully develop. =]
