It is being made illegal or " immoral " to be anti- nearly any group. It is all part of the plan to force people to think alike. Think of it as " programming ". If everyone thinks the same way, the citizenry is easier to control.

NO, I don't believe the media is literally trying to "make it illegal to be anti-gay." It is an arguable fact that the media is characterized by a liberal bias, and part of the liberal agenda is pushing "acceptance" of homosexuals.
I see this more as a freedom of speech issue as opposed to a freedom of religion issue. Saying that homosexuality is wrong, or that homosexuals are sinners, has somehow been branded as "hate speech" by liberals (and the liberal media). THIS, I believe, is the "hidden" agenda. It is no longer good enough to simply tolerate homosexual activity; now you have to "accept" it or you are nothing more than a hateful bigot. I think some of the answers to your question are proof enough that the media has succeeded.
Acceptance of homosexuality will continue to be pushed until homosexuals have more rights than heterosexuals, just as the civil rights movement was not satisfied until minorities were given more rights than Caucasians (evident by programs such as affirmative action).

What? Do you feel that it should be illegal to be pro-gay rights? Where in the 'scripture' does it say ANYTHING about being for or against gays? All I remember was something about God hating FIGS,not FAGS ! So, I too am for all freedoms for all religions. I just don't want religious dogma to become a law to oppress me, or anyone. When a religion tries to convert people against their will, there is always conflict and warfare !

I've never heard of Christan preachers being arrested in the UK for reading anti gay scriptures from the Bible. I've heard that Muslim clerics preaching jihad against the west were even protected from being arrested.

Jeremy - please give a source to your claim about christian preachers being arrested for reciting scripture.
And I'll tell you what. You can have your hate speech when and only when you make it apply to everything in the bible.
Start with the seafood and pork eaters - and when you have riled them for a while - then you can get back to your hateful gay bashing.
Until you do that we will know you are just bigots hiding behind scripture.

There is a lot of stuff in the Bible that is anti gay. I don't understand why gays would want to follow the Christian ways.
The Bible is also against contraceptives. Yeah, right.

The liberal media is only portraying "anti-gay" agendas because it stands against the liberal views.
To add to your comments, I would like to claim my views as both Christian and liberal. My views, in my opinion, are quite unique.
I believe that religion needs to stay out of our legislature. Jesus makes this separation clear by saying to give to Caesar what is Caesar's. Furthermore, freedom of speech should allow a preacher to preach whatever he or she believes God is leading them to say. If members of the Ku Klux Klan can hold public rallies preaching hate, then ordained ministers should hold the right to say what they want in a church service.
God does not care about our government, our patriotism, or our economy. We must live our life based on love and seeking truth. God does not give us the benefit to judge people--if God disagrees with homosexuality, then we should let him deal with those who choose to engage in it. Jesus commands us to love, even those who are our enemies. Citing this, it should definitely be illegal to be anti-gay if damages are incurred, but our constitution clearly allows anyone to exhibit such opinions.

For that to happen, they would have to pass a law against being an intolerant, paranoid twit. Which, from what I've seen lately, isn't likely to happen any time soon.
Your mistake is in assuming that "the media" has some hidden agenda. It isn't hidden at all; they're just pointing out people like you for what you are.

I have heard of ministers being given a hard time in both America and in the U.K. But arrests; no.
Carolyn- hear this: no one said gay people do not have rights. But they do not have rights over anyone else. They are equal is all.

Gay people have rights too. Everybody's rights need to be considered. Why should Christians have the right to violate others? That smacks of hypocrisy. God made us all, gay or otherwise.
