The founding father's were considered 'Classical Liberals', much much different than the liberals of today. In fact in the definition of Classical Liberalism, says it is very much like todays libertarianism! So, if the founding father's were here today, they'd be part of the Libertarian party!

To call them liberal or conservative by current standards oversimplifies the situation. Leaders like Washington would not like the partisan nature of our system. Hamilton's Federalists nor Jefferson's Democratic-Republicans would fit neatly in either political party of today.
Urban and suburban Republicans might resemble the Federalists while rural Democrats might resemble the Jeffersonian Democratic Republicans, but even this analysis is an oversimplification.

They were not conservative, they were indeed liberal. Conservatives would like to replace the white house with a mega church and staple paper copies of the ten commandments on every Americans head while the founding fathers made the separation of church and state. And when corporations got too big it was one of the founding fathers who had no problem with dissolving them into smaller companies because they believed that so much power being in the hands of so few people was undemocratic.

very simple libs have no balls and no spine to fight for anything except to cover up their greed and legislative crimes.check out Dem scandals in the last 50 yrs and you will get the picture.they lost the war in viet nam and they are doing their best to loose Iraq.As for fomenting revolution to gain freedom from England would be totally ludicrous for the libs.remember no balls no spine!

Without debating your use of the term "liberal," probably because they had just been run out of England by big government types.
ADDED: Okay, the terms. I'll bite. The founders were LIBERAL, b/c they were progressing from the existing mentality. Today's Liberals are progressing us into a mob mentality, which will bring us a dictator. And if you think it is bad now...
