1 inch = 0.026 meters
so....
1 foot /s = 12 * 0.026 m/s
1 foot/s = 0.312 m/s

Since 1 meter = 3.2808 ft divide the speed in feet per second by 3.2808 to get meters per second.

1 Metre = 3.28084 Feet

So if something was going 100 feet per second it would be going 30.48 metres per second.
