it depends on when your daughter's body is really for it. it could be a stomach virus as her doctor said or it could be a warning that shes going to have it.

The typical age is 11-14. However, girls can start as young as 9 and as late as 16.
Stomach pains has nothing to do with it. The pains are unique and will not last for two weeks. Leading up to getting a first period a girl might get cramps on and off but not all the time for two weeks.

If the doctor says it is a stomach flu then it probably is.

Take her to the doctor. As a woman we all know that PMS and cramping does not last that long. I was 10 when I started mine, my sister was 11 and my mom was 9, all fairly young ages. I am 30 and believe that now days girls are starting them closer to 8-9 years old. It's a possibility but highly unlikely that this particular pain is linked to a menstrual cycle. I would take her to a Gynocologist first thing monday and do exactly what they suggest. OK? Good Luck.

Getting your first menstrual period is one of the most visible signs that you are starting puberty. Puberty usually happens for girls some time between the ages of 9 and 16. There is nothing wrong with you if you get your period later or earlier than your friends get their periods. Read on to learn what your period actually is and how to deal with it. Or, you can skip ahead to learn about how your period might make you feel and what to do if you are having period problems.

The average age for a black girl is 10.5 years old and the average for a white girl is 11 years old. However, some girls get it as early as 9 years old and some as late as 15. I myself got it at 12 and a half.

I got mine at 13 yet now theses days girls are starting earlier in puberty so she could get it early as 9 years of age. But if her doctor knows it then take their advice and if your daughter doesn't get better then have her see a gynotologist.
