actually I have. In college, it was the end of the month, so I had to use up my meal plan money or it would be lost. So I bought a whole bunch of chocolate and gave it to my buddies at teh student newspaper. I gave one of my fellow writers, Tanesha, some chocolate. The next day, she gives me something: a poem, about how I bought her chocolate. Humbling experience, for sure.

Yes. About, gosh, 12 years ago (I'm 36 now) a received a poem in the mail. I had no idea who it was from. It was typed on plain white paper. It was a stunningly beautiful love poem about this man's desire for me. It described me, the way I look, but in a way that I had never seen myself before. This man was extremely infatuated with me. I showed it to some of my friends and no one knew who it was from. I was in a renaissance reenactment group at the time and was sure it was someone from there based on the language of the poem. Finally, about two months later the author confessed that it was from him. Sadly, he was a colonial in the army and married with four kids, one of them almost my age! He was tipsy (not drunk) when he told me and spent the entire evening creepily following me around. I took him aside and privately told him that I was flattered about the poem, but his attraction to me and his attempts to woo me were completely inappropriate. He did knock it off, but it seemed to make him like me more. I avoided him as best I could with us being the same social group. It did not end well, but I will always remember the poem and how one man confessed his attraction to me in such an eloquent way.

Yes. When you are special to someone you can inspire anything from poems to songs, but do try to hard, just be who you are and if that's enough then that poem reflects how you trully are.

I saw a Dragon, on the way,
His breath was there to see;
I said to him "Oh Dragon, Please,
Do you have time for me?"
He looked at me with somber,
I felt my Heart then sank
He calmly glared at me and said,
Is it your wife, that's a skank?"
I laughed a little, knowing,
That he has read my lines
He commented that my stories,
Had made him laugh, at times.
I came away with knowing.
That I had a friend, that day.
I was making a difference,
By the words that I would say.
