Most people in my school like me, but most of them aren't my real good friends. Now I am a little different because I am a country aholic. I love animals especially horses and I am a die hard country music fan. I love vacationing in Nashville and going to the grand ol' opery. I live smack dab in the middle of a small city town. Every one loves rap music and city life while I prefer the country and roughen it outdoors. My best friend lives in the country and in the summer I go to her house at least once a week. (ast week I was at her house every day but Thursday.) But the problem is that my best city friend is realizing that she wants friends that listenen to the same music as her and that like what she likes. She also annoys me because being the city prep she is she thinks that shes better then me. Shes been ditching me for other people and stuff.( My country friend would never do that) Next year is my freshman year. Instead of acting like them there people at my school I want to wear

(sorry I ran out of room up there) Well should I wear my wranglers and boots instead of acting like the prep that I ain't or should I pretend that I'm a prep to fit in?

Just be yourself, you may lose her as a friend. However, don't change yourself just to fit in. I had many of "use to be" friends we just grew apart. I think it's a part of life we make friends and we lose them. Do try to please anyone but yourself. I bet you'll feel so much better at the end. You are, who you are.

Just be who you are and wear what makes you happy. If you try to be someone you're not you won't be happy anyway. You might not end up being to most popular girl in school, but you'll be true to yourself and later in life you will be happier with your decision. This city friend can't be that good of a friend if she is acting like she's better than you and trying to get you to change. You don't need people like that in your life anyway. Good luck!

Maybe mix it up. You don't have to show up full on rodeo style the first day.
You'll never get another very first day at school. Folks love to box you in with a label.
Wear your belt buckle, for instance, with a polo tee and khakis.
Wear a tee shirt and sneakers with your wranglers.
Wear your boots with a skirt and a jean jacket.
Be yourself, but don't be a label or a stereotype.
Please look for other friends. You need to be around people who like you for who you are.
If you are yourself, you'll be attractive to folks who like you for yourself.
If you pretend to get friends, you'll have to continue to pretend to keep them.
What a Waste of Time!
Even in a city, there are opportunities to be around animals.
Volunteer at the local animal rescue.
Try to get a summer or afterschool position working with a vet.
Maybe offer your services as a pet walker or sitter.
You could meet folks online who share your passions. JUST BE SURE to keep your parents in the loop about your postings online.
Good Luck. You'll be fine.

I've never been able to understand why kids want to "fit in" by wearing the same type of clothes and acting the same.
A teenager's life is mostly hypocritcal in that they want to be individuals with their own tastes in everything BUT they want to be like the rest at the same time.
As the old cliché goes, Be True To Yourself.
As an afterthought, what if everyone in every school wore the same clothes, talked the same, looked the same and acted the same. I think it would be a very boring and redundant place to be. (i.e. you've seen one, you've seen'm all).

Be yourself. High school sucks, and you just have to put your head down and power through it. The most important thing is that you emerge stronger and knowing that you were true to yourself.
That being said, don't be afraid to try new things, including clothes. Just because you're country now doesn't mean that you can't be country-chic! We all try on different identities as teenagers.

Just be you. I am a Los Angeles transplant to Wyoming, and I kept my country roots with me as sort of a hybrid. Still wear my boots to karaoke.

Be who you are. Your true friends will like you for who you are. Do not let peer pressure change who you are or how you act.
