I would say that it depends on they type of pest problem that you having. If you have gotten ants because you left out some thing sweet, then I'd say it's on you to take care of the problem.
Now if you have cockroaches, and they were there before you moved in then I'd say that it's the landlords problem to take care of.
It just kind of depends on what it was like before you moved in, so that if there were no pests when you moved in, then it's on you to take care of. Since you may have caused the problem.
But as I said if the pests were there when you moved in then the landlord should be responsible for taking care of the situation for you.
I have seen people who live in a duplex and leave their back doors open and have gotten mice. That problem was caused by the tenant, so that they are responsible for taking care of the situation. So you kind of have to go off of what it was like when you moved into the place your living in.

Normally the landlord is responsible. However, if you are the cause of the infestation, expect the landlord to bill you for the cost of the treatment.

Inside with rats and roaches - depends on at the time you moved in, was the place free of pest? If it was, then it's you because you brought the pest over from your previous home via your belongings. If it wasn't, then it's the landlord. This is nuisance and problem is easy and cheap to fix.

It is the landlords responsibility....they are the ones who own the property and having say termites or rats brings down the property value and can hurt the property.
For me what I did when I wanted to get rid of the ants was I split the cost with the landlord as it is not a threatening problem more of a nuance problem.

Hi There,
U sure didn't give much to go on, but the liability stands with the proprietor of the dwelling to keep up with all by-laws of the jurisdiction. eg. Any apt. cockroaches, ants, etc. "Owners
responsibility." Since I don't know r dwelling a wise idea would be to go to the library & look up Dwelling, Rent, etc. &
get PROOF on PAPER!

Depends where you are in the UK if it is a private land lord not council or housing its the landlord if it is Council or housing then its the tenant
The council will deal with the problem if you ask them to. But they will charge you

It depends if it's cap'ed in your rent or not...if there's a lease agreement that lanlord does have to take care of it than we have something to talk about...but it's not an obligation for a lanlord.

I would say the landlord most definately!!!If he or she refuses u can call your city of health department and the landlord can be made to do it.
