Find a new hobby. There are so many things you can do! If you have a walmart or a craft store nearby, check out the different options for crafting. You could teach yourself how to sew, crochet, knit, cross-stitch, needlepoint, paint, scrapbook, make greeting cards, make jewelry, etc. There are so many options. Every town has a library. Find a book that will give you step by step directions to learn something new. Or just check out some books to read for fun. Join the summer reading program. Every library has one! And there are usually rewards or prizes. If your library is too small to have a good selection of books ask your librabrian to explain how inter-library loan works. You can borrow literally any book that is in print. And don't rule out things like building birdhouses or feeders, gardening -- flowers or vegetables, or going on nature walks. Whatever you do -- don't spend your whole summer sitting in front of electronics (computer, tv, video games.) It is horrible for you and has been linked to ADD and learning disabilities. Go outside and make mud-pies! Act in a way that you think is childish -- you'll be surprised how much fun you have!

Get a summer job....This way you'll earn more money. Learn that life is not all milk and honey, and learn to appreciate hard work to earn a living at a young age.

Read something fun. Take a walk. Tame a wild bird. Organize a "treasure hunt".
