Q: You have also called Sen. McCain's immigration plan amnesty. But you said, "Those that are here paying taxes and not taking government benefits should begin a process toward application for citizenship as they would from their home country." Why isn't that amnesty as well?
A: Well, my view is this. People should have no advantage by having come here illegally.

Q: But you're not telling them to go home.

A: I am going to tell them to go home, but they start by beginning the process of applying for citizenship or applying for permanent residency. They're not going to be barred from doing that, but they do not get any advantage by having come here illegally. That's the key part of what I objected to in McCain-Kennedy, which said that people who are here illegally get a special pathway. My view, 1) secure the border; 2) have an employment verification system; and 3) say to those that are there illegally, get in line with everybody else.

Keep rule barring immigrants from running for president
Q: Should we change our Constitution to allow men like Mel Martinez, born in Cuba, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, born in Austria, to stand here some night as candidates for president?
ROMNEY: Never given that a lot of thought, but with Arnold sitting there, I'll give it some thought, but probably not.

I'm kind of sure that Mitt's a git (It's a British thing). He doesn't really stand on anything but his money. Illegal immigration says it all. It's illegal, people!!!! All of our heritage comes from the same folks. Let's start to give life back to anyone 'legally' willing to give up thier life not just for our country but for the beliefs that made our country what it is. Ours meaning thiers and, thiers meaning ours. Way too much thinking for a growing boy, such as me.

He is against illegal immigration and the proposed 'amnesty bill as are all Republicans to do except for John McCain. It is here that McCain dropped off in the running for my vote.

Any politician that deliberately defies the will of the people who elected them is not deserving of representing any of us and should find a job in the 'real world'.

We did not elect them to keep promises to their own 'special interests' but unfortunately they have forgotten where their loyalty lies.

He's against it. He is against Amnesty. In fact even though I am supporting him for Prez, I think he is a bit too harsh. But most conservatives would love that. http://www.dryflypolitics.com
