Crickets will not cause impaction in your gecko. They are a good diet for them provided you feed the crickets some sort of protein based food (fish flakes are good). Other things you can feed your gecko include mealworms, superworms(my favourite to feed), silk worms, butterworms and wax worms in moderation.

If he just shed, he won't be too hungry. They eat their own skin as a source of nutrients and to reduce any scent that might attract predators.

I HATE crickets! There loud, nasty and hard to catch come feeding time. Just go with a "worm salad" as I like to call it. one wax worm and a few meal worms with some goldfish food sprinkled over it. Once a week use some gecko vitamins in with the worms. Just make sure you have a worm bowl so they don't get away. This will also help if you use loose bedding the tank, they don't end up eating it. But if you DO use bedding make sure it the Eco kind that comes in bricks. It's not bad for them to eat since its made from coconut shells shredded up very fine and this stuff helps a lot with the humidity issues. Have fun with your little guy...or gal. =)

The cricket should be no longer than the space between the geckos eyes, or he could get an impaction. A chirping cricket is a large cricket. You need the little tiny crickets for baby geckos. And don't forget to gutload the crickets for 24 hours before feeding them to you gecko, otherwise they are nearly useless as food.

if the crickets are baby crickets- small ones then they'll be fine, if they're too big he wont be able to eat it
