Yet we just won the America's cup and made it to the elite 8 in the 2002 World Cup. We easily had the hardest draw in the 2006 World Cup and the officiating against us was awful at best, downright cheating at worst.

by 2014 America will be a top 5 world powerhouse!!

I hope you are right. America certainly has the resources and the talent to become a world power.

However, it isn't there yet. A bad draw shouldn't concern a good team, it just should beat the team in front of it. And officiating evens out over time; it shouldn't be a concern.

Let's hope your 2014 prediction is correct.

Not gonna happen... you have hardly set the world alight!! winning a gold cup is a far cry from a world cup or even a copa america. Win one of those and you can brag all you want til then just accept that a gold cup is not an important trophy in global football.

I don't disagree with a word you said.
The U.S team is growing and developing faster than any other team in the world.
Today, they proved that they can perform very well against a great team while playing in a hostile environment.
By 2014, the world will stand up and take notice of the Americans.

Great game today, Benny Feilhaber has just converted me into his fan . A great volley. Simply Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
