Should you leave a tip at Souper! Salad???

Great answers. But the server was rather neglectful and it took 10 minutes for him to get our water and the place wasn't busy at all. He didn't take away our dirty dishes until we were getting up to leave. Should I still tip?

At least leave something for the person that keeps removing your dirty dishes.

People are ignorant on tipping.

I went out once where someone at our table was not going to tip good because a couple dishes weren't clean. Our server replaced them for us. So how was his tip have anything to do with the dishwashers fault?

Be grateful for kindness people offer.....leave a tip.

I usually tip the server since who knows what chaos is happening in the kitchen that is no fault of the waiters' and he may be in a predicament of being unable to let me know. No matter what, I always leave a 15% minimum. For better service, I would add more. If I opt to eat from the buffet, I would leave 15%. since tips make most waiters' bread and butter.

Usually buffet style restaurants have a little jar near the cash register for tips (for instance at Moe's - they have a red gas gas with a sign stating "gas money". It's a cute way to allow folks to tip!

If the service was lousy and he didn't bring you drinks or remove your plates, I wouldn't tip. If he didn't do those things, what DID he do? I'd mention it to the manager.

If he was good with the drinks, and removed the plates and checked on you, a few dollars would be appropriate.

I don't leave tips at places where I bring my own food to the table EXCEPT when the drink pourer has been extremely attentive and polite and kept my glass full.

do you mean like a buffet? if so, i do, they still come and clean your plates away and ask if they can get you anything. i remember when my 9 year old was little, we always went to one buffet and they would even go get things from it for my little one so I wouldn't have to take her clean her all up to maybe grab 1 thing, or they would stay and entertain her for me so i could fix my plate. also. I'm a waitress, so that's probably another reason i do.
