The worst horror movies I have seen and brought accidently are Fever Lake and Rose Red prelude The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer. Plus Mirror Mirror.

I love 13 ghosts. It's about a long, lost uncle who leaves this fantastic house to his nephew and his family who have lost everything including his wife in a fire.
But all is not what it seems and it has some pretty angry 'souls' in the basement, locked up, to be let out at certain periods of time. But just as the family move in. Of course.
The uncle made the house and caught the ghosts to power his Devil machine to unleash Satan and gain control of Earth that some guy invented in the 1500's.
But the uncle is not dead as he blows his cover when the nephew isn't wearing the special glasses designed so you can see the ghosts that are coming to get you. And from then it all unravels and your heart pounding.
You will jump a lot when you first see it and have the daylights scared out of you but after that is just so good to watch for all the death scenes.

Worst horror flick had to be the exorcism of emily rose.

It was pretty much a courtroom drama with only one scare in the end, and it wasn't even good enough to be worth the wait.

If you want an otherwise dry horror flick with an intense ending that makes it worthwhile, check out Pelts, from the Masters of Horror collection...the acting alone at the movie's climax was well worth it. Most believeable human reactions ever.

13 Ghosts is tricky to explain in a few words, but basically it's about a house that was designed to be a machine for summoning an ancient power, one that requires 13 ghosts to power it. The movie itself is pretty decent (the excessive CG effects screws it up though).

13 Ghosts, a horror classic. The general story is about a middle class family suffering with money problems. Out of nowhere they are told they've inherited a mansion from an uncle that passed away. They move into said mansion and discover there are ghosts in the house. The ending is a surprise. But the ghosts are really neat. The original movie is classic, the newer version wasn't really good at all. They made it very, very cliche. The newer version, a lot of the house is made of glass and has etchings in it. Symbols. Father and two kids and a maid (the maid is black and plays comic relief, go figure).

My worst movie is the Grudge 1.

13 ghosts is R but it is about a family who move to a new house except it's haunted with 13 ghosts and one of them is the family's mother. They interact with ghosts and lose each other. Very good movie though.

Tooth Fairy -- I made the mistake of getting that movie. It was needlessly grotesque, had a really bad story line, and was just all around a big disappointment.

EDIT: Cadaholic, you are thinking of Silent Hill. And AMEN to David N. That was the whole reason I rented House of Wax. Paris goes bye-bye!

I would have to say the worst one I ever watched was called "Ticks". Horrible movie. The movie had the guy that played Carlton in the Fresh Prince in it and he played a leather coat wearing bada**.
