The police tracked my friends house and asked me for my name, dob, where i live and they asked the same for her step-dad. Will I get a fine for this or get a criminal record? What's gunna happen?!!?! We told them we didn't mean too and they know that...but I'm still ultimatly worried...

its ok! i went through this before. my bf and i were on my couch, when i prank called 411 (the info line). i said "HERP ME" like a chinese person into the phone because my boyfriend was tickling me to death, and then i hung up. so a few minutes go by and we smoke a bowl of some sweet ganj, and then TWO COPS roll up at my house!!!!! one of them takes off running, examining the perimeter of the house and then the other comes up and POUNDS ON THE DOOR like, "OPEN UP POLICE!!!"
i hid the pipe in my pants pocket, HOPING they wouldnt smell the ganja smell or see the pipe in my pants. i told them that we were being "dumb kids", and then he asked to see my 21 yr old bf, who is NOT a kid! lol it was so funny though afterwards. my parents NEVER found out about it, and my dad even worked for the damn police department then

They just don't want it to become a problem. If it only happened once and it was an accident then you have nothing to worry about. It's when kids call continuously because they think it's cute or fun that they get into trouble.

I heard awhile back that no matter what number you press, if it has 911 in it anywhere it will reach the police. Maybe you have the wrong number lol

This happened to me too. The police just came over to the house and talked to my grandma. I got in trouble, but that was all that happened. If they didn't go to your house, then you are fine.

There's no fine for an honest mistake. Just don't start making that mistake on a regular basis. If it happens a lot, they'll think you're doing it on purpose.

it is a crime to prank call 911 and the police will write a report. if you lie then they wont put it in your record. if you tell the truth they probably will depending on your age

That story is hard to believe. I'd assume some kind of ticket for all the trouble they had to go through for nothing.

They'll most likley tell you(in a very serious tone) just to be more careful next time. People actually do that alot.

I wouldn't worry about it. Everyone makes a few mistakes. They've probably done something like that when they were younger also.

if you didn't do it on purpose is not gonna be a problem. but they took all your information in case you do it again and is not an emergency. So be careful next time because it can bring you problems if you do it accidentally again.
so don't worry.
