In sweeden there is 3 month of day and 3 month of night and there is no problem,...
but think in this, if we are in a helicopter, and the speed of the earth rotating is high, we when we get down, we go back to the same site. Answer this you will answer yours, it is the same

Bunky gave a good answer! We would indeed feel heavier without planetary rotation. I think a few of the people who answered the question got rotation and orbit around the sun confused. If the Earth stopped spinning, the orbital path around the sun would not be changed and the planet would not fall into the sun. A curious side effect would be that a day would last one year, however. Time would not be changed at all, unless you count it speeding up very slightly due to the loss of time dialation effect resulting from motion. Time is a physical property of this universe, our little planet could bounce around like a ball on a roulette wheel but time would remain the same. We of course would probably not live to appreciate that fact, however. Bunky's suggestion about natural disasters is also good. A person might feel a bit heavier but imagine how a whole tectonic plate would feel?

It depends on just how quickly it stopped rotating. If it were to stop immediately, then all loose objects (including people) would be flung eastward at 1,700 km/hr. Which is slower than escape velocity, but still fast enough to cause a lot of destruction and mayhem. If it were to slow gradually though, we'd be alright.
If the planet didn't rotate anymore, assuming it's pole continued to face the same direction as it does now, the cycle of day and night would be caused only by its revolution around the sun. So day and night would be half a year (4,380 hrs) each. However, I think its the stabilizing effect of its rotation that makes the Earth's pole point in a fixed direction; without spin, it would probably become tide-locked -- like the moon -- with respect to the sun. In that case, there'd be a permanent night side and day side.

if the earth would stop rotating around its axis immediatly you would think you get accelerated in the direction of its further movement at a speed slightly above the speed of sound.
If the sun would be a laserpointer you would see the red spot on the earth surface travelling at this speed.
as you remember the concord-aircraft was capable flying faster than the earth rotates ;)
The earth would get a day and night period of 365 days, cause its still in orbit around the sun.
the question of moving isn't that easy to answer, since a movement is always in relation to something else.
if all the planets would stop any motion, we still move with our complete solar system in relation to the galaxy center and so on and on.
so basically you never stop moving.

Time on earth would stop, and whatever time it was on earth like day or night it would stay like that till earth would start to rotate again.

The earth's rotation produces our gravity. If the earth's stopped rotating, all oceans and all atmosphere would be sucked off the planet, and most likely all of us with it. Instant death for all.

Yes, but it would take a few years for all the plant life and food to be wiped out. Then I stop moving.

The lack of day and night would not cause people to stop moving, but it would REALLY mess up the weather.
