Yes. My nephew was in Stanford Children's Hospital and we went to spend Easter with him. The eggs were already boiled, but we had plastic sleeves that shrunk when heated, leaving cute designs on the egg.
We didn't know about microwaves, for we didn't own one back then... so we put the egg in theirs & turned it on. BLAM!
We discovered that didn't work. After cleaning up the mess, we were told to put a hole in the shell & try again. BLAM!
That didn't work either... not with boiled eggs anyway. I don't know if it works with raw eggs, since we've never tried again. What a mess we had! lol

no, but when I was little, I put aluminim foil in the microwave and the microwave burned to a crisp, becuse I heated mac and cheese.
