I always start off my pregnancies with Diarrhea. It's a gross subject, but around 30wks you have a hormone shift that quite possibly is responsible for it. If you are the kind that had really bad morning sickness or react to things liek birth control pills, then more than likely it's from the shift in hormones. It doesn't mean you are going into labor, it just means your body is getting ready to start the process of preparing for labor(which takes a long time).....meaning over the next few weeks your cervix should start thinning and eventually dialating. The other possibility is that you've eaten something that doesn't agree with your system or that you've been blocked up and reached max capacity for your digestive track and it's all come spilling out at once....either way...not so much fun, but it doesn't mean labor is on it's way and diarrhea doesn't cause labor.

In my perg. preg class they did say sometimes diarrhea is a sign of early labor. I'm 17 weeks and I freak out about everything I make a rule for myself if it persists longer than 24 hours I go to the doc. to double check I'm high risk but following this rule has saved me some un-needed trips to the doc. office also the 2 times I did have complications that lasted more that 24 hrs. there really was something wrong 1 was and infection that I needed anti-biotics for and the other was severe dehydration from morning sickness. Now the cramps they are contractions it's the same thing the tightening and relaxing of muscles. The uterus is a muscle so depending on how far along you are contractions may not be a good thing. But are they in the front they are uterine contraction or are they in the back those are probably upset stomach or your bowls (also muscles) contracting. But in general my doc. prefers that I wait the 24 hours if it gets worse or persists then he like for his high risk mothers to come in but I think it's good for anyone.

I'm pregnant and talked to my doctor about this last week. Diahrrea is normal but not too much. Just remember to drink a lot of water because diahrrea and vomiting are 2 things that really dehydrate your body, especially when you're pregnant. Also if you continue to have diahrrea and cramps for a couple days more than that may lead to a premature birth. But i'm sure you're alright. If the cramps last more than 3 days you should contact your doctor.

diarrhea can be a sign of labor starting soon. Some women get them in the beginning and the end of pregnancy which is normal. But yes watch out for contractions..and best of luck to you

I would assume the cramps are from the diarrhea.
You can get it checked out at the doctor eventually if it keeps bothering you, I would think that since you had d. that is a sign you're not miscarrying.
I've had three friend who've miscarried and all had cramps, no diarrhea.
cute spelling of diarrhea lol

You probably just ate something bad.
It should pass in 24 hours. Keep your self hydrated. DRINK WATER.
If you are having cramps, I"m assuming they're from the upset stomach, and NOT LABOR.

Yes, hospitals often give castor oil to overdue women to induce diahrroea to get contractions started - It doesn't always work. If your diahrroea and cramping persist see your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
