Go as soon as the gates open, generally two hours prior to the games start time. You can go really close to the field for that first hour or so, during practice, regardless of where your seats are. That'll be your best chance. . .As far as wearing your Yankee gear, if you aren't rude and stupid about it, people won't be rude or stupid back. Generally people only fight if someone is standing up causing a big scene. But there's nothing wrong with just being there supporting your team. Generally, people are respectful of that- be respectful back, particularly at someone else's ball park. Enjoy Fenway, it's a great park; try to take a tour if you can. Even if you're a Yankees fan, it's always nice to see parts of history, and really appreciate the game, and when it started, which largely involved the Red Sox and Yankees!

Hanging out near the dugout while players are warming up is usually the best place to get autographs. Be sure to get there early.
As far as your gear goes, if you're smart, you won't have much trouble. Just try not to draw too much attention to yourself. Go ahead and cheer, but don't taunt anyone. If it's a Red Sox blowout though or they win a close one watch out, it pretty much becomes open season on Yankees fans then. Also, where you're sitting will have some affect. If you're sitting in the loge or a box there'll be more yuppies and families. If you're in the bleachers, again, look out.
Just be glad it's not the 70's. Things got ROUGH back then.

Ya you should go to Copley Sq where all the Yanks team stay. They are close enough to walk to the ball park from there. Boston Red Sox fans LOVE Yankee fans. No probs with wearing the hat and jersey........

get over on the yankee side of the dugout as soon as they let people into the stadium.you could try asking where the players park their cars and wait for them there to sign autographs but they would most likely do that at their own stadium which is what I've seen them do a lot.

w/ all due respect....my advice would be not to go...i mean a yankee fan at a boston game is just unwelcome.....or if you do go i'd make sure you're in a group of yankee fans or else you might get a beating or two.....
i'd get there plenty early before the game though....fenway park sells out and packs in early....not sure if you're really going to get yankee autographs at fenway but you can try....just don't be a jerk because you're not in the yankee home
