I have a wave rider modem on a non line of site internet connection. Vonage does not work with it so what VOIP will?

The concern isn't whether your connection is "LOS" or not. The concern is what latency do you have in the connection, and how much bandwidth do you have. Often, wifi internet providers only offer 256k down and 56k up. The minumum you can have is 90k up for decent sound quality. Additionally, with latancy, if you ping, say yahoo.com, how many milli-seconds does the first packet take to respond, any how many do the subsequent packets. If the first packet is substantially slower than the rest, like satelitte internet service is (400ms), then there is no VOIP service that will work well. If your latency is around 100ms for each ping request, then you should be fine. If it fluctuates, or is above 150ms, then you will experience poor quality. You will have dropped out sound and noise. Since the other parties voice is delivered to you through a stream of audio, one delayed packet (which may contain a second or two of their voice audio) which arrives after one behind it, will be discarded, resulting in silent gaps in the middle of the conversation.
