You cant plot a graph on net, Its simple try on paper . Here are the guidelines :
Find the common points on the graph from both the equations...
[Eq 1 will be : x = 5 -y / 3 and Eq 2 will be x = 4 + 2y] .
For Eq 1: [ x = 5 - y / 3 ] If y is 2 then x will be 1 . Similarly if y is -1 x will be 2 .
x 1 2
y 2 -1
For Eq 2 : [ x = 4 + 2y ] If y is 1 then x will be 6 . Similarly if y is -1 then x will be 2 .
x 6 2
y 1 -1
Since , 2 and -1 are common in both equations you get your answer ! [ ie : 2 and -1 ]

First, Isolate the 'y' term in each equation.-
3x+y = 5
Remove 3x from left hand side by subtracting 3x from both sides.
3x + y - 3 x = 5 - 3x which is equivelent to y = 5 - 3x
Now equation 2
x - 2y = 4
Remove x from left hand side by subtracting x from both sides.
x - 2y - x = 4 - x which is equivelent to - 2y = 4 - x
change sign by multiplying both sides by -1
-1(-2y) = -1(4-x) which is equivelent to 2y = -4+x = x-4
now divide both sides by 2
1/2(2y) = 1/2(x-4) which is equivelent to y = (x/2)-2
You now have two equations y = 5 - 3x and y = (x/2)-2
Create a table of values for both equations -
value x Eqn 1 y val. Eqn 2 y val.
1 5-3(1) = 2 ((1)/2)- 2 = -1.5
2 5-3(2) = -1 ((2)/2)- 2 = -1
3 5-3(3) = -4 ((3)/2)- 2 = -0.5
You can plot these two lines on a graph and you will see (as shown in the table above) the lines intersect when x has a value of 2

First, solving for Y in each equation gives Y= -3x+5 and Y= x/2-2. Next, you graph both equations on a Cartesian graph, and where the two lines intersect, the number on the X-axis is the answer. In this case, it is at 2. To verify that you have the correct answer, just set both equations equal to each other and solve for x: -3x+5=x/2-2, x=2.

equation one when x=0, y =5, when y=0, x= 5/3
equation two when x=0, y =-2,when y=0, x=4.
on the graph paper mark y=5 and x=5/3 then join two point to make a line. similarly for y =-2 and x =4. join the two point to make the second line. where two lines intersects read the value of x and y.

1st equation (finding value of x):
3x + y = 5
3x = 5 - y
x = (5- y) / 3
2nd equation (finding another value of x):
x - 2y = 4
x = 4 + 2y
3rd equation (substitute x for each equation):
(5 - y) / 3 = 4 + 2y
5 - y = (4 + 2y) * 3
5 - y = 12 + 6y
- y - 6y = 12 - 5
- 7 y = 7
y = 7 / (-7)
y = -1
3x -1 = 5
3x = 6
x = 2

Have to draw graphs of lines and find point of intersection.
Line 1
(0,5) and (4,-7) are two points on this line so line may be drawn.
Line 2
(4,0) and (0 , - 2) are two points on this line so line may be drawn.
Point of intersection of Line 1 and Line 2 gives answer.
