I don't believe we have anything that's geared in America that's specifically for white people or labled as such.
Have you ever seen a restaurant that advertises it specializes in Caucasion food instead of Mexican food or Chinese food or Italian food etc?
Or have you ever heard of a School that's just for whites and whose name advertises it?
Because I haven't.
I do think it's racist that they are allowed to have their own set of standards but we can't have ours.

I think that despite whatever attempts we as a society have made towards uniting humanity and destroying the superficial borders we've created to segregate ourselves, we still see each other as being black, Hispanic, white or "miscellaneous." And the way I know that this is true is in the fact that you're more likely to purchase CDs recorded by Amy Grant, Faith Hill, Celene Dion or any other white artist. I really don't see you making a trek to the record store to purchase the latest releases from Mary J. Blige or Gloria Estefan.
Sadly, this is how most of the country still categorizes music. If an African-American records an album, it's going to go under R&B or Hip-Hop. If a Hispanic-American goes into the studio, he or she will surely release a Tejano or Salsa album. And if you're white you're either going to be singing rock and roll or country/western. It's stereotyping and what's worse is that it occurs in music... where barriers and borders should not exist.
Has it really been that long since Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana broke down racial barriers and decided just to play great music? U2 have won more Grammys than any other rock band and a lot of that has to do with their ability to play music that CANNOT be categorized as being white, black, Hispanic or anything other than great music. We shouldn't try to label these artists based on their last name or ethnic backgrounds.
However, we still do and sadly, you don't see a lot of African-American acts being nominated for Grammys unless it's in the R&B or Hip-Hop category. Latino artists get even less recognition. So in order for these artists who work so hard to get any recognition at all, they need to set aside a time where their work can get special attention. It's a sad necessity in a world where we still want to segregate ourselves.
Saying the Black Entertainment Awards or the Hispanic Music Awards are racist is like saying the NAACP is racist. What do these events even have to do with you and how does there mere existence even affect your life at all?

Of course they are. If there was a White Entertainment Awards Show it would have been shut down so fast Jesse and Al would have won land speed records doing it. I've never understood the double standard of the Black Entertainment/Hispanic Entertainment channels and awards shows. Why not White ones too?

Its observed as the rustic track Awards and the CMT Awards. there is not any longer quite a "black" track awards coach as many non-black rappers and artists and function been nominated for and gained Essence awards, wager awards and source awards (Beastie Boys, Eminem, fat Joe, Daddy Yankee, third Bass, etc.) the clarification they have the Latin Grammy's is with the help of the fact the commonplace public of the track is in a distant places language and listened to by utilising human beings of Latin descent and there are a number of distinctive and distinctive genres of Latin track. in line with threat you're unaware that Latino all and sundry is produced from many distinctive races (black, white, Indian or perhaps some Asians in areas of South united states of america). additionally, until eventually now the deratification of Jim Crow rules, all awards shows interior united states of america have been made and for whites. Black actors have been not often nominated and weren't even allowed to attend the Oscars for a protracted time. It has no longer something to do with race in line with se, yet extra with cultural modifications in track, which as a result coincides with worldwide places of commencing place and race.

Of course they are.
Can you imagine if we had a White Entertainment Awards or White Music Awards? How about a White History Month?
To deny this is racism is nothing less than hypocrisy, a pure lie.

Of course, what do you think would happen if there were the "White entertainment awards", or a magazine called Ivory instead of Ebony? How long would that fly before the marches and protests started? Or the Ms White America Contest?

I don't think they are racist per say... These awards are geared towards a demographic of music styles. Anyone can be nominated for a "Black" Entertainment Award or a "Hispanic" music award reguardless of race. It's like the Country music awards for example. Most country music artists are white. I do agree that the is a double standard. One would call the Country music awards the "White Music Awards" and all the sudden the racism card is pulled.

Have other races ever tried to compete, or be included in these awards? I wonder if the ACLU would stand up for them if they were denied entry?
I think it is racist.
I am programmed not to be offended by this, however. If I were to find offense, I'm sure I would be considered a racist . . .

Although I can understand why someone would think that, those awards are not meant to imply racism at all but rather to give recognition and honor for the hard work and talents of the minorities of our country such as Hispanic/Latinos, African-Americans, and others because their efforts, blue-collar or white-collar truly make a difference!

I'm not sure if racist is what I consider them...I do think they put up a divide between people....if you want a color blind society then don't do things that draw attention to color....WE ARE AMERICANS PEOPLE!!!!........that is the beauty of this wonderful country!!...we are all people who's ancestors are from all over the world, and we bind together in this country and we call ourselves AMERICAN!!!!.....but over the last 30 or 40 yrs we see black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Irish Americans and so on....and it just serves to separate us the more we use those terms.......racist??...maybe not....seperating...YES.....

Why don't we begin the Caucasian entertainment and music awards and find out?
Surely some insurance company will step up to the plate and be willing to pay for the law suits? The premiums will be costly but worth it.
