Nope is better to give time or food and clothing than money. The money often goes elsewhere. I work for non-profit agency so I see first hand how the money trickles down. And just in case anyone is wondering about what food to donate most programs receive government commodities so cans of peas and corn are not necessary lol Think about the food that you like to eat and try to include healthy treats for kids. It's heart breaking to see hungry kids and food shelves that have nothing to offer but canned goods and dry pasta.

Not always since charities give to those who are in need such as those who have been recently hit by a hurricane or tornado, or possibly someone who had been stranded somewhere and need some money to get their life back in order, even if it takes a month or two.

It's a nice gesture but volunteering and getting involved are even better then just donating money to charity.

Depends on the individual's conscience and spirit.
Personally, we find that actually DOING physical labor is more rewarding than just writing a check, but we still contribute to chosen local charities.

since people aren't doing right now, if everyone did, at least it'd be a start. imagine what could happen if everyone who could afford it just gave $.50 a day to all those who needed it...
but remember to always donate to a charity that's reliable. one that you know will actually send a good amount of your donation to the cause

It depends on who you give it to. Giving it to some big-business charity like United Way?...not for me.

i dont think its enough because money isnt the answer to everything its being proactive and helping out in person that means a lot..for instance u can donate money/food to a food bank and thats it or u could also donate ur time at the food bank/shelter....
