I agree. I believe Atlanta will wind up in 3rd place since they've been hitting poorly. Also, the wildcard WON'T come from the NL East, it will come from the NL West.

The Braves aren't done. Infact seeing as you are a fan of a team in the national league east(the mets) you actually should expect the Braves to do this. Every year the Braves come down with crippling injuries that should kill them, every year the Braves go through a point and time where they have an extended bad streak, and every year this causes people to count them out.(this all usually happens coming up to the all star game.) The thing about the Braves is they can make changes. Alot of teams get on a bad roll and talk about how they'll change faces, or how they have talent that might be able to fill the gaps they have. The Braves do have the talent in their farm system and they have shown that year after year. They constantly bring up new faces that suprise everyone with how well they adjust to the major leagues(Francouer, johnson, Mccann, Thomas, james just to name a few in recent year). The other thing is they are able to get players from other teams that help fix there issues. They just aquired ledezma which should help their bullpen woes some. The other thing is the Braves have good starting pitching. Smoltz and Hudson are tough to hit when they have their game on and chuck james is starting to prove himself to be a solid pitcher. I expect that soon enough the hitting will come around and chipper is working hard to get back from injury. Andruw is the huge question mark in the lineup if he can get it going they will compete if he can't they will struggle to keep up, but the thing that alot of people forget is that andruw has always been a streaky hitter so don't write him off. Also with the exception of the phillies the NL east has not been great this month. Granted the mets did sweep the A's they still were having quite a time winning games also. So the braves are still pretty close.(5 back I believe) I believe the biggest reason they can still win this divison though is there ability to beat the mets(hate that for you I do). They have already won 4 of six and only one pitcher on the mets has proved capable of besting them this year(perez). If the Braves can keep playing well against the mets I have a feeling that things will come around facing everyone else. Now it may not be easy for them but the braves are still in it.

Braves probably won't win the NL East, but the Braves will win the NL wild card. They just need 1 more solid starting pitcher.
The Mets were in a deeper skid then the Braves lack of production now.

No, the Mets are too inconsistent. In the end the Braves pitching will prevail and they will take the Division.

No, they are not done yet. However, they need to get it going again and not fall too much farther behind because they will then be out of it.
