Religion is man's attempt to satisfy God in the way he or his group has chosen. When I believe in GOD this is not necessary a religion as long as I do not try to please GOD in a human, self-pleasing way.
But I have found intelligent life in the universe outside of our planet:
It's GOD himself.
I don't need to be religious to see that.

Believe in GOD, the creator, and you need no religion.

Some religions will have no problems with that. Buddhists I think will have no problems with that for example. Some Christians and Muslims will have problems with that though. But if we do in fact find, and talk to, and maybe even physically meet intelligent creatures from other planets, all people will just have to get used to the new reality. It may take several generations though.

Probably little difference. History tells us this. Upon discovering the New World with new civilizations, what was the action taken by the Europeans? I think many assume finding alien life would be entering an age of peace, but I think the opposite.

The issue is not what would become of religion but what religion has done to make sure that such info is blocked from becoming public knowledge since it could shake the very foundations of every man-exploiting organized religion….

First "mormons" would not go crazy. I am LDS aka Mormon and I tell you this Jesus created worlds and life without number as vast as the grains of sand on the beach. As for Eve being the mother of all life she was human life. I highly doubt Eve gave birth to the plants and animals. For it says in Genesis Chapter 1 Versus 20-25 King James Version of the Bible. Booh yah mother of all life ha.

My personal favorites are Taoism and Buddhism. They don't have any particular problem with life. No matter what form or where it comes from.

You mean other than human :)

Certainly some would continue believing that there must be
something even more powerful out there. Some would be
disillusioned.

Then we would think there should be more than one God because according to the Bible God never mentioned about other lives.

God created life here on earth, show me where it says he DIDN'T create life somewhere else. Just because OUR bible doesn't say, doesn't mean it's not true. Do you think in the Beta Reticuli bible it makes mention of us?
