I just read up on the 10% ethanol gas and the differences between straight old fashoned gas and the newly available 10% ethanol blended gas. I don't understand how this could be a problem. If anything it seems that ethanol should run the same or maybe marginally better then gas? So what's the deal? I was running my mower it ran out of gas, the same gas I've had in my can for several months and was pre-ethanol, then I filled it up with new fresh from the station gas (10% ethanol ) and the motor just couldn't even out, it races then chokes and races and chokes and just won't get up to speed.
Coincidence? Or a bad omen for ethanol blended fuel and old motors? 5hp Briggs and Stratton at least 8 years old. Thanks!
