There's an author whose last name is Hoala, who wrote a relatively fact-free book about why you shouldn't drink municipal water, I think.... but no critters.

The koala is an arborial marsupial in Australia. It eats eucalyptus leaves and gets most of its water from the leaves themselves and the dew and rain on the leaves. As they spend so little time on the ground, it is too dangerous, they don't drink from pools and streams.
