Your brother has the same mom and dad as you do. So your half brother has one of the same parents as you, and the other is different.
Like my mom got married to someone else, and their children are my half siblings.

Having a half brother is when your brother is half related to you. I have 4 half brothers and sisters. And they have the same mom as me but not the same dad. Because my mom had kids with my half brothers and sisters dad and then divorced there dad and got married with my dad and had me. My dad is my half brothers and sisters step dad. Yes i know very very confusing.

someone who's only related by one parent. Like I have a brother and a halfbrother. My halfbrother is because my dad knocked up some other chick that isn't my mom. So a half sibling is only related to other siblings by one parent.

I agree!!! This term has always BUGGED me. I don't have any brother that's 1/2 anything, he's my brother 100%.
People use it for if you have one common parent and one different parent. I don't use it at all, it's not accurate in my opinion.
Have a great one! =)
