Yes, They will probably freak out a little, or a lot, but keeping communication open when it comes to a decision as huge as the one you just made is very important. And I agree with the first answer. They will be proud that you told them.

Just to clarify something for you Lola, there are worse things that could arise from having sex, and condoms don't always work. Which is exactly why she should tell her parents so they can explain to her the risks of contracting HIV, Chlamydia, and all those other lovely STDs that could either kill her, or kill her ability to have children when she is older. Are you mature enough to be having sex?

I think depending on how old you are, because you need to know everything that they can teach you. From birth control to STD'S. I pray that when my daughter grows up and starts to do things with boys that she will feel comfortable enough to talk to me about anything and everything.

I guess you could call me one of those protective types of moms. I always know what my daughter is doing and who she is with. But of course with all the wierd people in the world I think that parents and kids are better off when the parents are the protective kinds.

So, I guess what I am trying to tell you is that you need to talk to your mom at least if you don't feel that you can talk to your dad. They are your parents; they will always love you and be on your side no matter what you say or do.

I think you should tell at least your mother. I am very glad my daughter told me, that way I knew what she was doing and could get her put on birth control and she would also be sure to make the young man wear a condom as well. The worst thing would be for you to have sex and end up pregnant and then have to tell them. They will trust you more if you tell them what is going on in your life and quite possibly ease up on you. Open communication between parents and kids is a very important thing to have. Show you are mature than they will respond and hopefully thank you for trusting them enough to tell them.

when i had sex my first time i told my parents it's important to have an open and hoest relationship where that's concerned b/c if they don't know what's going on then there's a huge chance you can't get birthcontrol alot of states have laws against women under 18 getting birthcontrol without parental permission and condoms don't always work TRUST ME!!! I mean don't tell them everytime you have sex but your first time is imprtant and it's important for them to know if you're sexually active so they can set up s.t.d testing and birthcontrol for you at least every 6 months

do nottttttt tell them. Parents are very protective over their kids, and especially their daughters (for whatever reason). I really don't think it would be a good idea to tell them. 1. it wouldn't accomplish anything, and 2. it would just piss them off and possibly ground you etc.... i think sex is also a very private and personal thing, you should keep it between you and the person you had sex with.

aybe you should just tell your mom or ask her for a paps test you know because once your sexually active you need to be checked on to make sure your still as healthy then while your there the gyno will ask you if your sexually active you can tell him yes and he doesnt have to tell your mom only if youagree its all confidental but u cn discuss birthconrol and maybe your mom can find out by you asking your gyno for a possibility of birthcontrol good luck =]

it all depends on how close your are to your parents. In my case, i was close to my mom so i told her. She was shocked that i did it but was proud that i told her. Im still with that same guy to this day and we have a 3 year old together. It also depends on how serious you are with the guy. I hope you make the right choice!

Well you don't have to but if i was you i might consider it. At least go to your doctor and get put on birth control. You don't want to end up a teenage mom thats not ready to raise a child. Using condoms isn't 100% they break, and sperm can seep out of them too.

No. My boyfriend's first girlfriend had parents like that and they came to his house with a shotgun when she told them. They'll find out eventually, it seems like they'd just get mad at you unless you are really close to your mom, or they ask you right out- i wouldnt say anything. You can "take care" of all of that stuff on your own. Now if you get pregnant then i'd tell them lol. They'll just assume after awhile and no harm done.

If you feel comfortable telling your parents tell them. Either way, I would suggest asking your parents to get birth control for you so that you can stay safe.
