There are actually two varieties, one has an H mint mark on it and was minted by the Heaton Mint, Birmingham (mintage 16,800,000) and the other one was minted in London (mintage 48,306048, it has no mint mark. In circulated grades the London mint coin sells for .35 to $3.00. Higher if in mint state. The 1912-H has a spread of $1 to around $30 in high circulated grades. Your coin is listed as KM# 610 and G51D-010 London mint or G51D-15 Heaton mint. The mint mark H is to the left of the date. Hope this answers your question.

Only if it has NEVER been in circulation, has never been cleaned with copper polish.

It should be almost black in colour but look as if it has just been minted.

However, the copper content of it is valuable to the Bank. They are slowly retrieving ALL copper coins in circulation and re-issuing copro-nickel 1p & 2p pieces which you can pick up with a magnet.

So if your penny is worn and has small nicks or dents in it, it is worthless.

Yes its worth about 2 pence because of the copper content.

Probably not but it all depends on the condition, the number of coins actually circulated that year and whether or not it has any errors in design.

You could check in your local bookshop if you have time, just browse through the pages of a coin collectors price guide as if you're intending to buy.

On a lighter note, ever heard the phrase .."..a penny for your thoughts.."

yes but beware of those who will lead you to believe it is not.keep it in a plastic envelope so it dosent get any more scratched than it is.google coins on line.see what the going price is and if you want, sell it on e-bay.

Not worth a LOT at the moment, I don't think. Try again in a few years, and maybe a collector will pay you a bit for it then.
