The smallest is about an inch and a half in size while the largest is upto four inches. There must be atleast a couple per room and bathroom. And I have a four bedroom house with attached bathrooms. So I imagine between 10-15 lizards. It is a whole colony haha. But they are harmless and run away from me frantically. Occasional it can be disconcerting when im opening a door and one of the larger ones nearly drops on me.

I dont want to call an exterminator and kill them. That would be too cruel.

I heard that leaving used chicken egg shells in various places scares them away because they think there is a larger predator around.

Any ideas suggestions or ideas?

If this is your worst problem, you have no problems. You must live in a tropical area, most likely beautiful. And geckos are harmless beneficial creatures that many believe bring good luck. They will control their population/habitation within reason.
You probably have zero spiders or other unwanted insects. Be glad you've never been bitten by a Black Widow or Brown Recluse...I have, no fun. And 15-20 little geckos is hardly an "over run" situation in a 4 bedroom house.
You'll both (you and the geckos) become accustomed and comfortable with the right attitude. When this happens they won't scurry so much, you won't act surprised or startled and you'll both mellow. Won't even notice each other.

you can go to a feed and seed store or any other hardware store and get a bag of lime, spread this under the house if it is not on a slab, if it is on a slab, spread or dust the lawn around the house.

It works by dehydration, insects dehydrate from lime and the lizards will also, they will leave.

No Food, no lizards.

If they choose to stay, they will die, but they will leave before they die,

This also works to remove roaches, fleas and any other insect.

Be careful, lime will dry out your skin, wear gloves and googles, lime in the eyes can blind you, wear goggles.

all it needs is a dusting and do not put it in the house.

Okay, try calling Geico and see if they need any more gecko's.... Sorry, I know that's lame but I couldn't resist!
Do they make good pets? Maybe you could give them away or sell them-but, if your home is their habitat I'm guessing that there's really a small chance of anyone in your area actually wanting more of them....

I have the same problem, but with leopard geckos, which I love - I cannot trap those, they really are beautiful, and I have found a solution. Mothballs. They hate the smell of them, and leave the house. So my kitchen smells of mothballs, small price to pay.

Well I'm from Hawaii and they are free to roam where they please (they're considered good luck). My friends mom will hurt anyone (includes screaming at cats) that try to hurt the geckoes in her house. So no idea how to get rid of them I just let them roam. They don't hurt anything and they eat bugs.

Why get rid of them? They could save you a bunch of money on your car insurance.
