Where have I been? I guess I'm not the "whole world" as I didn't know!!! Besides, why boycott an entire amusement park??? Just boycott the unsafe rides!
I'm going to tune in to CNN to read more about it.

I heard about it shortly after it happened and started getting announced on all the news sites and amusement park sites. It's a sad and tragic accident. I don't know if it was something that could've been prevented just by regular inspections. At least Six Flags was smart enough to close all of their drop tower rides, as well as Cedar Fair closing the drop tower rides at their (former Paramount) parks. I just saw a report not too long ago that inspections found that a cable on the drop zone tower at Carowinds in NC was deteriorating from the inside out. I'm wondering if that is what happened at Six Flags. We'll just have to wait and see.

And I still haven't seen any updates as to whether or not they were able to reattach the girls feet. I know they were going to try earlier this weekend, but haven't heard anything else.

Yes, I have. She was sixteen, and was riding Superman Tower of Power at Six Flags Kentuky Kingdom. Apparently, one of the cables that pulled the ride to the top of the tower snapped and whipped around in front of the seats. When the ride dropped, the cable hit her legs so fast it cut off her feet.

yeah a lot of people have been asking questions about that. It is really terrible. Superman Tower of Power was a free-fall and now every ride like it is closed for inspection. What's sad is that its unexpected. People are now thinking of boycotting six flags now but that's pointless- you might as well boycot ever theme park in the world. Hopefully the girl is doing as good as you can in her condition. All we can do is hope for the best.

Yes I did, There is the same ride at Canada's Wonderland called Drop Zone. It's also closed due to that incident. So are all similar rides across North America

Who hasn't? That's sad. I feel bad for the girl since she is going to have no feet her whole life from going to an amusement park to have fun. It is messed up. I'm never going to 6 flags again because of that. They should inspect their rides more carefully.

yeah! wouldn't that suck? i heard that the doctors are trying to repair her feet back to normal but that would be pretty hard with all of those little bones in her feet now broken. it would be a huge mess!

(for people afraid to go on rides now)
just because this incident happened doesn't mean that you should be afraid to go on a ride again! the chances of getting hurt on a roller coaster are 1 to 500 million!!! (you can check my facts) and the chances of getting in a car crash are 1 to 150!! you all worry about getting eaten alive by a shark or of the monster under you bed when tobacco is the leading killer of American citizens. like 40% of all deaths are due to tabbaco(about right)!!less than 0.2% of deaths are due to roller coasters and shark bites.

A guy that I used to work with was going on to have a career modeling.........then at 6 Flaggs one night, on a faulty roller coaster, a cable broke, leaving his face a total mess. Needless to say, his career went down the drain
