Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as they see fit. In order to get that paycheck. I am required to pass a random urine test, which I have no problem with.
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check, because I have to pass one to earn it for them?
Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sit on their ***. Could you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

Your Welfare Check is in the Republican Headquarters Office. They are just waiting to take it all away from all the Welfare Recipiants. Social Security Office sends checks out to all the people who has paid in Social Security. There is a difference between a Welfare check and a Social Security Check. I see now why you are on Welfare.

I have mild issues with the system. This thought never crossed my mind - I agree with you. I am busting my behind to work 40 hr/wk which means get up early, go to bed early, get my work clothes ready, etc.

Hell, they should make it more difficult to get a check rather than stand in a 20-minute line. Conducting a urinalysis would be great. But what is the system to do if someone fails their urine test? Not give them a check when they're claiming to support 4 kids? But then some of kids would suffer and they are innocent.

So the thought is bittersweet.

Excellent point!
I've never thought of that before and I wish I had.

Don't let this just go..........I don't live in the States so I'm not sure who you would contact, I guess your State Rep. or someone like that, but I would FOR SURE fire off an email to someone and make that suggestion!

BUT........how much do you wanna bet they'll say something like it would violate their rights or some crap like that......and if they do, then you can always say that doesn't taking a test violate yours in some way???

Either way, good luck to you, and I hope you follow up on this........I really do think it's a fantastic idea, and like yourself, I have nothing against people needing some help now and then, I do however have a problem when my paycheck goes to keeping someone sitting on their behind waiting for the first of the month.........

my husband actually received a class action settlement over that in Ca some one sued b/c they were humiliated at having to take pee test for welfare he applied b/c he was having trouble finding work but never got any b/c he found something before the check started well long story short it said that it was unlawful to ask for a ua but they can ask questions as for the likeliness of that money being used for drugs and can't deny it if it is used for that purpose sick huh I agree with yo though people should be checked if on any kind of government assistance b/c it's still possible to sell food stamps even though they've gone to the cards easier actually b/c all you have to do is give them the card and pin #

I never thought about that, but you definitely have a valid point. I was on welfare not to live on it but to help me. I am now going for my bachelor's degree and I am actively looking for work. I have known others who live on it because they don't want to work and they buy illegal stuff with it. I really hate people like that!

I don't have to take a drug test to get my paycheck and wouldn't work for a company that asked me too, it's an unwarrented invasion into my privacy, If I come to work and do my job well is all that should matter

I fully agree. I have no sympathy for a crack head on welfare. Why should I have to work hard to support such losers.
