You do know to use only the very top layer of the napkin, don't you? The way I do it, is to place the portion of the print on the napkin I want to use on the object, and apply the decoupage medium over the print, from the center out. I don't find the need to apply the medium first, since the layer of the napkin is so thin.

simply put it on the underside of the plate, it cannot be washed though, its just for decorative things.
