would be nice to be able to go back to living the Ancient Ways, however, in to-days technological world this would be impractical and impossible. all we can do in modern times is use our own best judgment and conserve as much of our natural resources as possible. we need to remember Grey Owl's words " there are some things which are not having because of the price you
pay. "

Actually Native Americans had their own civilizations. North American civilizations aren't widely taught in American schools for some reason, but the last one collapsed when the Spanish went through, and introduced lots of diseases, and animals not natural to the environment... Not to mention killing them off.

In the southeastern part of North America. It didn't always look swampy or have real tall trees. It resembled more of a park, and the grass was kept low cut by burning so that it is easier to hunt game. The creation of tribes didn't start until major North American civilizations fell apart due to the Spanish. So by the time the other Europeans made it to the Americas. They saw small groups of tribes that often had small turf wars.
Do some research on the Mississippians. There are also some other North American civilizations, but I can't remember them at the moment. The natives had civilization. IT was just built with the environment, and unlike Europe. They had better methods of getting rid of waste thus not many diseases affected them until European intervention . They did change the environment to suit their needs. Someday take notice why there are more walnut trees in certain parts of the US.

The whole lived with nature, and untouched virgin lands with no civilization is a myth!

Also to the other posters. That stuff didn't happen to the natives until the Europeans came around. Simply put. It was pure genocide just like what the world did to the African Diaspora, and continues to do.

Living as the Native Americans lived is nothing short of a romantic idea in the minds of you and most people that feel the same way. The truth of it is that Native Americans lived a very harsh life with much suffering. Many died of health problems, because of no modern medicine. Think about it. Would you give up modern medicine? Do you realize how many irritating illnesses of today become deadly the instant you give up modern medicine. How about starvation. You have no supermarkets to sell you food. You have to get up off your soft little *** and earn it. One extremely bad winter and a little bad luck and you watch your children starve because you cannot feed them. These are two examples from a very long list of things that could easily kill you if we lived as the Native Americans did. These people went through a lot and to insinuate anything else, disrespects them terribly!

I think we can take care of God's creation without worshipping it as a mother goddess. The problem is that we have been exploiting the Earth without thought of consequences to our and future generations.. We need to emulate the Native American care for the Earth. Certainly, we can leave things better than when we found them.

that would be quite cool but personally I could never live like that-simply because I am not used to it. I'm sure many people would love that and think it was a brilliant idea but again many others wouldn't
