Whether bestowed upon me by a benevolent supernatural force, or earned from hard work and sacrifice in a previous life, my talents (and other positive attributes) are something that I am very thankful for.

I do not feel superior because of my talents, intelligence, or looks; because I know full well that compared to many other people throughout history and on the Earth today, my talents are not to be noted or remembered.

I humbly accept the gifts that I posess, and hope that I can use them to contribute to society and to earn the relatively painless and easy life that I enjoy (however much I may complain and wish for more ease and comfort).

(To address some of the other posters to this question, maybe you put God in quotes to accomodate various peoples' theories and interpretations for the life-giving force of the universe.)

Heriditary traits, free will, determination, DNA markings, family up-bringing, education.......all point to a biological, psychological and sociological explanation. Where did the supernatural deity interference come from....sounds like CAVE MAN logic trying to explain the unknown...

I am an artist. I paint, draw, digitally enhance photos... And my work is usually done for friends and family, and that brings them joy. So, yeah, I'm extremely grateful to God for the opportunity to do so, but I'm also grateful to God for the tallents he has given others. The doctors that I seek advice from, and the ones that delivered my son via C-section. We would have died if it hadn't been for the doctor with the ability to do such a thing. My husband has been gifted with a great mind for numbers and engineering in general, which provides our family with what we need through his job. My friends have a tallent for listening and offering good advice... I'm grateful for all of the tallents that God has given any person who has used those given tallents to help others. Where would we be without them?

So...you think you took your talents yourself? You think your capabilities are all a result of your genetics or hard work on your part? if there is a god i doubt he gives out talent. especially when you consider that most people abuse, neglect and even use their talent for evil. talent seems to be purely based on genetics pre-dispositions, and what we perceive to be talent.
