No he does them himself but none of his tricks are original he has copied them all from other magiciains.

David Blaine creates illusions, it shouldn't matter how he does them, only that they are entertaining.
If you want to study magical effects you can buy books with them in, but I would suggest only do so if you intend to practise, practise, practise and then entertain people.
The books wouldn't be worth buying just to learn secrets, but they could help you show your own illusions.
Regarding none of his tricks being original, his presentation of the effects are original so the illusion he creates are often original to him.

I agree with the 1st person derren brown rocks. David blaine isnt a patch on him hes just a freak.

They are just illusions, not real magic. He sends subliminal messages out to his assistants, however, on some occasions, he does use actors, or imform the participants before he does the "trick".

well if we knew the answer it would just spoil the illusion and that is the whole point.

no he hands out pcp to everyone watching, and it creates the illusion of whatever he's doing.
