A few weeks ago, the gauges would suddenly stop working (gas, speed, rpm) and a minute later they'd pop back on and work again. On and off, on and off. About a week ago, they'd go off and stay off. By chance I found if I pushed the tripometer button they'd come back on. Now the gauges have just completely stopped. I thought maybe a loose wire or short but no idea where to look for this. Maybe something else? Any ideas?? Thank you!

The first thing to do is go get all of the on-board modules scanned to see if they are storing codes and if any codes are stored do they relate to your problem. Something like no data codes would relate. If you can tap on the cluster and it cuts out and then comes back on, you either have a bad connection to it or the cluster has had it. Good luck.

Most likely its a short circuit behind the intrument cluster,. It could be as simple as a shorted plug. Try removing it and moving the wires (that end up in the cluster) a bit.

it sounds like the wiring harness that plugs in to the back of the dash has come loose on it,and not making good contact, you may have to remove the dash unit and check this,if i was you id remove the dash and clean all the contacts on the back of the dash unit real good, and make sure all of the ones on the plug are also good, that may help it,also check any ground wires you see for the dash unit or the wiring harness, every harness usually has one or more grounds that come off of it ,and go to metal,it may be hard to find this one, good luck hope this helps.
