See now you're going to open a huge can of worms because the next question would be:
To whom should the Catholic Church then give its priceless artwork? (most of which were swiped from Holocaust victims)
The culturally deprived?

You do not have the right to steal from me.

That statement probably doesn't make any sense to you, does it?

That's because you don't realize where the Church's money comes from - and why...

It comes from the average Catholic like myself, and the charitable donations I make to the Church and it's Charities on a regular basis. If not for the good sense of charity most Catholics have, the Church would only possess a fraction of the money it currently has. It is through the average Catholic's sense of charity that the Church is able to raise huge sums of money - and use it to help the needy.

And, believe me, that money is spent. The reason the Church seems to maintain "billions" is because of the repeated generosity of it's average Catholics. There is a constant inflow of money - due entirely to it's member's embrace of the Virtue of Charity.

As for how much money the Church actually has, it's annual budget is not bigger than that of the city of Chicago.

Therefore, to force the Catholic Church to "give away" it's alleged billions, is to steal directly from the wallets of genrous Catholics - in effect forcing them to join the ranks of the poor.

So, with all that in mind, exactly how is stealing money from the average Catholic going to bring aid to the poor?

Mark 10:21, "Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, 'One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me.' " And he did not want to sell his great possessions, so he went away very sad. Same way with not only the Catholic Church, but with most of them, don't you think?

Instead of asking what everyone else is doing for the poor, ask what YOU are doing for the poor.
