I'm 17 weeks right now and i have only gained on average of 3 pounds. My pre-pregnancy weight was 104 and i only weight about 108 now. I know there is no actual way to tell, but I want you tiny women out there who have had pregnancies with low weight to tell me how much you think I'll weigh at about 24 weeks. Reason being...I'll be going on vacation to beach-y weather and i want to know about how big I'll be. Give me the best estimates you can ladies! Thaaaank you!

Okay, I'm not tiny (almost 5'4" and 163lbs prepregnancy, currently about 172lbs at 32 weeks), but my bathing suit I bought 5 years ago still fit (though barely) 2 weeks ago, despite the fact that I bought it when I weighed only about 120lbs. If I were to buy a new bathing suit now I'd buy one or two sizes larger (probably two), but just saying... bathing suits stretch a *lot*. I'm also still wearing my prepregnancy pants except for one pair that I had trouble getting on before I got pregnant anyways. My mom was 5'1" and weighed about 100lbs prepregnancy and gained only 12-14lbs throughout the entire pregnancy (lost more during the birth than she gained), whereas they recommend you gain a lot more than that. I've heard women say they gained 90lbs (gasp! not recommended). I've been eating a ton and just can't seem to gain much, which I don't particularly mind but my midwife was rather distrustful of my lack of weight gain the first 5 months.

Just get wide shirts and shorts and buy a bathing suit that's not too tight and you'll be just fine. :)

Well, I am 28 weeks and I have only gained 3 lbs all together. As long as you are measuring right the baby and you are fine. Also, there is no telling how big you will be by 24 weeks. You never know how much weight you will gain from week to week so I would buy a bathing suit and summery clothes like a week or two (at the most) before. The good thing about that is that you will probably get it all on sale by then! Good luck!

Okay your supposed to gain your babies weight (and a little for the extra blood etc.) for the first few months. Its supposed to be 5lbs. in the first 5 months and then 1 per week till delivery. I don't know how tall you you are but underweight women are recommended to gain the most weight to support the pregnancy. I was steady, just try to figure this out using what I said, I've read it in nutrition books and child development books. But of course everyone is different.

3 lbs for a first trimester gain is fine, the baby is still less than a pound or two. By 24 weeks you may start to gain faster, you may be up to 10 lbs by then. the last trimester is the big gain, the baby starts to put on fat and you will start to store fat in anticipation of nursing. But it sounds like you are on track for a healthy weight gain and a healthy pregnancy. good luck!!
