Eleanor, Mary, Margaret, Catherine/Katherine, Charlotte, Augusta, Barbara, Ada, Amelia, and Alexandria are all good, aged, and cute names. I would prefer Amelia or Mary.

Another good way to find good old names are to have someone trace your family history and name the baby after one of your ancestors.

My name is Lena and I am named after my great great great great great aunt. And I love my name.

What you name your child can impact her future success in life.

Psychology Today published a study that surveyed over 500 Human Resource managers and over 150 college admissions counselors at competitive admission universities. The results showed that a person’s first name was a large factor in determining whether or not a person made it past the initial screening process for hiring or admission. People with odd or unusual names were more likely to be rejected while people with certain names – which Psychology Today termed “power names” – were more likely to pass the initial screening. Here are the top ten “power names” as rated by Psychology Today.
