So, I kept on asking for a cell phone. yap yap yap. But then, one day, my mom forced me to go into Best Buy and she got me a kids phone and I'm 16 and it's pay as you go and I was like AARGH! and she keeps on buying cards for it, even though it's a waste of money! I'm gonna go insane. I'm very money-conscious, so I hate WASTING money and other people wasting money and having T-Mobile would be a much better deal. $30 for unlimited nights/weekends and 300 whenever minutes. So, my mom just bought me $70 more dollars worth of minutes for that phone even though I made it F***in clear to her that IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY!!!

I rebel because they never let me make my own decisions, even though I make practically all As in school, I've never done drugs, gotten drunk, gotten a girl pregnant, and I always tell them where I'm going! And my mom keeps on buying me these cheap clothes when I'm like NO! I want a lot less clothes that are nicer.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGH! stupid *******

have you tried explaining it to her this way?

sorry, it makes sense to me too, parents are just like that sometimes, they don't take their children's advice serously.

If i were you, as much as this would bother me too, i would just deal with it, atleast you have a phone, i did not have one at your age, heck, at your age, my parents would not even give me my own keys to the house, they thought i would lose them, they would rather have me waiting for them outside in rain or snow!

Oh well, dude. You know very well that when you've got a 16 year old he'll be one some futuristic chat room complaining about the very same things.

It is pretty much like this: As long as you're living under mom and dad's roof, you basically do what mom and dad say to do. If you don't like that arrangment you're welcome to leave. But you won't...because you know that no matter how unfair your parents are it's a helluva lot better living with them than living without them.

I'm sorry to hear that, but I know where you are coming from....your parents are going to be like that just for a little while longer, you should get a job and show them that you are capable of making your own decision...you are 16 and it will help a lot...that way you can buy your own phone....GOOD LUCK with everything, everything will work out fot you

As long as you live under your parents' roof you listen to them.
If you don't like it, move out as soon as you are old enough.

Even if you had a job, it's not paying for your room and board and all the crap she has to deal with with you.

You sound like an ungrateful sniveling baby who doesn't deserve to be taken seriously. Act like an adult and you'll be treated like one.

Life is hard. Wear a helmet.

That's horrible when you can't take your own decisions. But if she wants to keep wasting money that's her problem. She is working to use her money as she wants. but i am agree with you. it's a waste of money. but unfortunately you can't do anything about :(

If you live under your parents roof, then you have to follow their rules. My advice to you is as soon as you can, move to your own place and get a job.

Make your own descisions without telling or involving your parents, just do it on your own and show your responsibility.
just keep doing that until they realize.
