You get what you pay for! Cars with vertical rear windows probably need a wiper, but remember that up to the late 70s rear wipers were rare. It's more important to see where you are going than where you've been

no its just that you get used to driving with rear wipers so if you then drive a car without if seems dangerous but really isnt. A driver is responsible for all around them... but if they are hit from the rear its not their fault so why have rear wipers?

no not really ,for years cars had no rear wipers, all it does is allow better vision in the rear of the vehicle, and if you,ll notice the cars you see this one are usually hatch back cars also, those are the ones they install these on the most, but it don't help that much, and its no more dangerous than any other car would be,good luck hope this helps.

A lot of cars have no rear wipers. They are not required by law.

We mostly use the windhield and the side mirrors and only occasionally the back window.

Also, we drive forward and most of the rain gets on the front windshield.

The reason is that most estate type cars have a near vertical rear window so the the air flow does not blow the droplets of rain away, as where non estate cars have a slanting rear window and so the air flow over the car will go over the car and blow the rain droplets away.

NO............NO................And Again NO!!!!

Rear Wipers are usually found on vehicles with the aerodynamics that prevent the wind from clearing the rear window. Or the rear window in the design of the vehicle is protected through the aerodynamics or placement.

In other words, when they built the thing, it didn't need it.

LOL, I've often wondered that - I mean, we can put man on The Moon but we can't put a rear wiper on a saloon?! I guess they don't coz by law they don't have to. Seems odd though.

no. in fact rear wipers don't really work well anyways. just with suvs you need them because they throw road dirt on the back window. so you have to be able to get that off. a car that does not happen.

I'd say most of them don't. I'm still on my first car which I've had for over 5 years and it has one. I LOVE IT!! When I've had rentals without them and it rained it was so irritating to not be able to wipe it away. I'd say when it comes to car dangers, you should worry more about the morons on cell phones that dont signal and drive too slow while passing through stop signs.
