its in your heart to do whatyou feel is the best for the child you gave away but what ever you do you will not be able to take back so think about it with an open heart and remember why you gave him away in the first olace . your heartis hurting so find it in your prayers to forgive your self and move on or forgive your self and go talk to the women you gave the child and ask her what and how she would feel about it

Well, sadly, yes you should probably leave it alone. I know it must be very hard, but there's really nothing else you could do to make anything better. I'm sure he's happy with his adoptive parents and will probably, once he's a older, try to contact you. Just know that deep down, you did the right thing. You probably had to give him up because of whatever situation you had at home, and it's a good thing he didn't have to go through it.

I agree with the other answerers on this one. You made the decision to give up your parental rights at the time of the adoption. It would not do anyone any good to pursue this at this time. You would be contacting him for selfish reasons of your own and not for his best interest. You need to be comforted by knowing that you are the birth mom and you always will be and nothing can change that. We all have regrets we need to live with and accept in our lives.
I would suggest that you seek counseling to help you deal with your feelings regarding this situation.
I do think it would be a good idea to put your name on a list so that if he chooses to search for you at some point in his life,he can find you easily.

Choosing adoption is an honorable thing. I'm sorry that you feel regret, but there is nothing that you can legally do about it if it was a "closed" adoption. I hope that you find peace in your decision somehow and that he will eventually contact you if he wants to. Take care and God bless.

You gave up your rights, I think, until he is an adult. Then you can try to contact him, but I think you can't do it until then. However consult with a lawyer.
