There are plenty of tour companies in Ireland, however I have found that it's a very easy island to just drive around. If you set up in Dublin, you can drive to many sites you want to see and back during the day. Do the same by just moving to a couple of hotels around the island to see the rest. The tour companies are nice, however they don't let you stay in one place long enough to really soak it in. Some places you only want to see for an hour or two, however some are great for spending a whole day or two at. Make sure when you turn your rental car in that you have them sign off that there was no damage. Also keep your gas reciept when you fill up right befor turning it in.
