I just wanted to add things to orginial question, things that I left out. Now I do give my child fruits and veggies during the daytime. He also eats gerber snacks, crackers, toast and yogurt for snacks. Most dinner times he eats what ever me and my husband are eating. And before bed he gets oatmeal w/ baby food.
Now, to those who said that I should give him milk or something. I was told that they shouldn't drink whole milk until 12mth or later.
Also, I'd like to take the time and say thank you to all that replied to my question with helpful advice. To those who decided that they were going to put me down and make themselves sound like good parents, I'm sorry for you. I don't expect mothers to put down any other mother about there style of raising their child. Everyone is different and your ideas might not work for everyone else.
One more thing, I should've mentioned that this is my first child and that I'm trying to learn as I go.

Sounds like your a good mother, and your right. You shouldn't be put down for what your doing. There is no guide book to raising children, and they certainly don't come with manuals. Moms and dads have been winging it since the beginning of time. Just look at God's first 2 children. Eve ate the fruit from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and then gave some to Adam to eat after they were both told not to by God. If God couldn't make his own children do what they were suppose to, what makes us think we can do better? Don't let anyone tell you you're doing it wrong.
As for what to feed him, it sounds like your doing a good job there to. Your right, no milk until 12 months. Keep to the formula. You've got all the snacks, meals, and drinks covered. As long as he's not losing weight between dr. appointments, and he doesn't act hungry, just keep doing what your doing.
Suggestions on snacks, because I know kids get bored with the same snacks - you can try Dole fruit cups. They make some that are in syrup that are good for finger foods, or they make some that are in jello, which are good for feeding him. You can try Graham crackers, goldfish crackers, for a real treat one in a while, try pudding. My son loves pudding, but he only get it for a treat. At 11 months, they are getting pretty good at picking up food, so anything that is small enough for them to pick up, and swallow without choking, is a good snack. I think it's Munchkin brand that makes a thing where you can put hard fruits or veggies such as carrots or apples into it, and close it up. It his a mesh side so that kids can munch on real fruits and veggies w/out getting big chunks of them and choking on them. I usually find them at the grocery store in the baby aisle.
I hope this helps. Good luck with your little one!

I am not sure what the answers were to your other question because I did not answer it, but I would say that if your son is almost 12 mos. then he should be eating pretty much what you eat because in a month, he will be on whole milk and not formula. Just don't be afraid to try new things (you may have to cut it up more for him) Go with your instincts...you are the mom and try to eat really healthy. If you teach him to eat healthy, you won't have to worry about how much he eats. He will eat less sometimes and will eat more as he is growing or in a growth spurt! I think that you are doing great, so don't worry about what anyone else has said! =)

Seems like your little one is already tollerating lots of different kinds of foods really well. Yogurt is also something that some say shouldn't be given before 1yr, but if he's already handleing it well, then no problem. I would check w/ your doc, but since everything else is working well, it is probably OK to give him milk as well. My friend's baby absolutley would not drink forumula after being weaned from breast milk. Her doc OK'd her to drink regular milk at around 10 months. As usual, every baby is different!

He should be getting formula for another month, but a week or so before his birthday, you can start to wean him slowly. (Do 3 parts formula to 1 part milk, and as he gets used to it, increase the milk and decrease the formula.)
Aside from that, he can eat just about anything - except stuff with honey or nuts... I would also watch strawberries (unless he's had them before with no problems) and shellfish - especially if there's allergies on either side of the family.
Remember: they're not born with manuals, and you kinda have to learn as you go. It takes a LOT to screw them up badly! =)

I know how you feel- When my first son was a baby I had to learn as I went along also. I had never been around babies before he came along and I came across a few mothers who felt the need to prove how smart they were. When I had my second son, I was much more relaxed and stopped caring about those "super moms".
A book that really helped me was " Super Baby Food" by Ruth Yaron. It's about feeding real homemade food. One section lists what you can introduce to your baby each month during their first year.
As far as milk you are supposed to wait until they are 12 months but apple juice would be OK.

Hi, well i didn't read your other question, but i'm a first time mother to and i'm learning as i go.
Well my son just turned 10 months but i recommend you feed him:
-mashed boiled carrots as a snack
-mashed potatoes (my son goes crazy over them)
-mashed refried pinto beans
-chicken in lil pieces
pretty much they can eat what ever is easy to swallow, good, and healthy.
I have to say that since i started feeding my baby those foods since he was 6 months hes gotten more healthy!
Of course after the meals i give him his bottle, i read also not to give him whole milk after a year they have a chance to develop a sickness later in life.
i give him gerber cookies and fruits, but that all from that catagory.

sounds like your doing a good job to me. Your right no milk until one yr or later as long as your baby is happy anf ull and you do what you know is best your the best mother your can be. I know some mothers on theyre 2nd or 3rd child who don't do as much for their children as you are doing for yours. Your doing a good job keep it up.
