A trojan is a program that looks innocent, but when run installs malicious code on your computer which does something nasty, like deleting files, or logging your keystrokes and sending them somewhere else.

Try AVG Free (link below), its a free virus and trojan scanner, and knows most of the recent viruses and trojans, and will remove them for you.

a Trojan horse is a program that installs malicious software while under the guise of doing something else. A Trojan horse differs from a virus in that a Trojan horse does not insert its code into other computer files and appears harmless until executed. The term is derived from the classical myth of the Trojan Horse. Trojan horses may appear to be useful or interesting programs (or at the very least harmless) to an unsuspecting user, but are actually harmful when executed

you could use this to try and get rid of it

1: This question belongs in Computers & Internet, not Personal Finance.
2: A virus is a program that spread on its own. A Trojan spreads by pretending to be a program that you want and getting you to install it.
3. Both can do just about anything that software can do to your computer. Most often they corrupt or destroy data.
4. There are many programs available to find and remove both. Your ISP probably offers at least one. Any 'Anti-Virus' program fits this catagory. Be sure to choose one that offers regular updates to handle new viruses.

A Trojan Virus is malicious software, like most other viruses. The difference is that it comes with another file(mostly pictures of undecent kind) that looks appealing and when you open the file it installs itself on your PC.

The only way toget rid of a Trojan virus is to install anti-spy software. AVG is a very handy and easy-to-use anti-virus program and it is free, you can get it from grisoft.com

After you have installed some anti-virus software (e.g. Norton), do a full system scan.

Once this comes back clear, do a search in windows for 'trojan' or the extension name(s) of the trojan file and delete it from the source.
