You've probably already been told, but George Washington gave two "commandments" when he left office. One was to keep good foreign relations (that's worth an entire Wikipedia page), and the other was to avoid political parties. This, he said will divide the country. Essentially he was right, but what can we do? Political parties are a natural side affect of democracy. "Yes" or "No" each side needed to find a way to establish itself and that's just what happened. Unfortunately people with different outlooks on life attack problems differently. So, yes and no, I do see problems with where our nation as a whole has gone, but we still call it the land of the free, and I have hope that we can continue to (if not agree) at least treat eachother with decency and respect.

I refuse to belong to either party! Both are going in the wrong direction. Against each other. The Rodney King phrase of why cant we all just get along has never been more true in politics as it is now. Instead of what is right or wrong it is whatever will be against the other party. Both parties have changed tremendously especially after 9-11. It needs to stop. Our country is divided and I believe either serious peace talks and reminding our government it was our constitution that gave us our freedom or overthrow our government and start over with a government who support equal rights for every American and everything that could make this country great.

We are all being betrayed by the government in general. We The People has no meaning to those in charge. I still believe that too many neo-con fascists in Washington have put the country on this path and now the whole bunch is corrupt. It's like an infectious disease.

In many ways yes but I understand that there are millions of Americans and we don't all agree so I can really only hope to at least think our voices are collectively represented.
