When I found out the answer, I was so surprised myself, but it is so true........... Women & the children RUN from their homes 5 days or more to avoid this sad day, and they stay away for another 3 - 7 days... until that day has passed by! Do you know what this day is??? This should be a day of FUN, but it is SO SERIOUS, that have many women & children running away from their homes for days before this day and for days after it has passed by......... it's suppose to be a fun, but it is a sad tragic day for many women & children... What day is the Busiest Day for ALL Battered Women & Children Shelters? & WHY does this happen every fricken Year??? I'd like both men & women to answer this question.... any ideas how we can stop this day of tragic events???

"SUPER BOWL SUNDAY"! I was SHOCKED & SADDENED when I learned of this, because their husbands team is loosing or they lost a huge bet, on their team, (easy answer,do not bet on any team) they choose to take it out and beat their wives and children........ how awful for these men who act this way, but what is sadder, is that the women & children choose & decide to return home to this home, a few days after the Super Bowl event... only to run away same time next year.... why do some men do this??? Stop THE INSANITY!!!! Wives get a backbone, leave and never come back!!! You deserve BETTER!!! YOUR CHILDREN DESERVE & WANT BETTER FOR YOU & FOR THEM.... Super Bowl Sunday is a Sad and Scarey Day for many women & children........ Each year, I send out an email, stating this fact, just to pass this info along, at this sad event... super bowl sunday sucks for many women & chidren... STOP THE INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY, ACTUALLY SUPER BOWL WEEK IS THE MOST BUSIEST DAY / WEEK OF ALL ABUSE SHELTERS!!!! NO ONE CAN TELL ME OTHERWISE, YOU HAVE TO SEE WHAT I SEE AND EXPERIENCE what I do, in order to accept that this Famous Sports Day is a VIOLENT Day for many women & children....... So many women & their children, run from their homes with just the clothes on their back to get away from the SUPER Bowl Sunday Curse! Why some men to choose that day, or any day to abuse their wives and kids, I will never know!! END ABUSE! as abuse is a learned behavior! and it will go on for generations, until someone stops the cycle of abuse! Super Bowl Sunday, is the WORST & BUSIEST DAY FOR ALL ABUSE SHELTERS! THANK YOU FOR THE SHELTERS! WOMEN, PLEASE DON'T RETURN HOME TO REPEAT THIS EVERY YEAR!!!! GET OUT & DON'T GO BACK! DO THIS FOR YOURSELVES & FOR YOUR KIDS! YOU DESERVE BETTER! PUT YOUR KIDS FIRST! AT LEAST DO IT FOR THEM...

It has been a long heralded urban legend that Super Bowl Sunday is day the day most women are victims of domestic violence. This is a myth (see hyperlink below)

For accurate statistics on domestic violence, see the other 2 links below.

Christmas seems the most logical answer since most places close so employees can enjoy the holiday with their families while these abused people detest it because they don't want to be around their abusive parents..

& then a week from then is New Years with some more partying & more adults getting drunk to go home & beat their wives/children.

Or might even be 4th of July (for in the U.S.) or perhaps Memorial Day weekend.

& as for stopping it, we can only hope these abusive people seek treatment & that these battered women & children are given the proper attention they need to cope & deal with what they've been through so as not to pass it on to their kids.

I'll guess Mother's Day. How to stop it? Here in the US, we need to start respecting all women, for starters, & stop objectifying them. We also need to beat some sense into fundies--pardon the pun.

I don't know for sure, but if I had to guess I would say Christmas, it is an unreasonably high day of expectation in this, and many other, countries, riddled with stress.
