I have to start with telling you that I am Bipolar. In the yrs of '05 & '06 I was in a manic state twice & bounced many checks, spent my $1000 VISA limit & my $500 SEARS limit. Then I didn't pay on these, so with collection agencies after me, late fees & I took 2 payday loans out on top of it all ($1500 in total), I am almost $5000 in debt.
I am no longer manic. I went to my bank & another one for a $5000 loan so I can pay everyone off & of course they denied me due to my credit report
I am now on disability due to the Bipolar & unemployed. I have nothing! But I have to start paying my debts before I end up being sued or being called into court.
Can anyone give me advice on how I can obtain a single loan of $5000 (not a cash advance or anything like that, they suck all your money and blood)? I worked out a monthly budget & a friend will help me stay with it. But where do I go to start this?
HELP PLEASE! Thank you!

Hi,
with your credit card debt, you usually can settle with them for a much lower amount! If you take your balances, most of it is probably late fees and interest.........When a collection agency contacts you , they usually will give you a payoff amount, say your bill is 5000.00 they will take the fees off and interest *just an example* then they will tell you that you owe a certan amount or they will charge you 10cents on the dollar and come up with an amount so before you go and get a loan and pay them exactly what thye want, try to negotiate,,,,,
say your bill is 3000 ask them if you can settle for 1000dollars payable now,,,, things like that!!!
good luck

Whatever you decide to do. it's very hard to justify if a loan lender is genuine or not.
I hv been a scam victim before so the only advice I can give is based on my experience.
1.Always ask for their Company's profile and registration or license and check them out via the authorities that their business is based.
2,Alternatively, check them out from the Embassy or High Commission office in your country for their credibility.
3.After which, before making any transfers at all to them, make sure you are aware of the IMF rulings and the bank charges imposed by the bank where the transfer will be initiated from.
4.Make sure you have all these details before you commit anything to them. Especially transfering funds to them.
5.They will claim to be God fearing individual and the likes to gain your confidence but at the end of the day that is how they earn their living. Don't fall for their words as a sign of sincerity unless their claims match that of what you obtain frm the authority.
Always ask for a detailed documentation of all processes and never just take their word for it.
I don't want others to be scammed like me because I know how much my family and myself have suffered in their hands.
The best is to approach a bank or a registered financial instituition in your area for advice.

You are on the right track. I don't think anyone is going to give you a loan for that amount now, with your credit and being unemployed. You need to get credit counseling! They will help you similar to what your friend is doing for you, but they will work with your creditors to lower your interest and payments and even the debt itself. Make sure you go to an agency that is non profit and government approved.

I'm voting for Ron Paul and you are somewhat right on the coming depression. But exaggerating the depression and saying Ron Paul is the only way out just makes you look nuts. There is probably going to be a depression. I don't think Ron Paul will prevent it. And unless we get a really worthwhile conservative congress in office at the same time I don't think he can do much to minimize it.

If you talk to the credit card companies, they might reduce what you owe for interest and fees. You'd probably have to quit using those cards, though, and pay on the remaining balance regularly.
Good luck.
